Louisa is a middle aged, mid sized mystery mutt who has been in foster for a year now. She came in with her puppies a year ago, and they all went to new adventures. Louisa is waiting her turn, and needs a special family with dog experience to find her. She is reliably house trained, crates very well for the workday, listens well and respects/responds to limits and boundaries. She enjoys the company of most dogs, although one senior female at her foster she is overly bossy with. She is good with cats. Louisa would thrive in an adult home who can manage her with men. She was previously very abused by a man, which is why she was taken away, and it takes her awhile to warm up to new guys, but she does and then loves them. However, on walks, with company coming over, etc she is not trusted with men she doesn&#039;t know. If you can manage that one part, she is otherwise very enjoyable to live with and love. Cookie is a young adult female black and tan Doxie mix, looks mostly Doxie but she&#039;s hefty and a little too tall. She is about 25 pounds, so a Doxie on steroids it looks like. Cookie LOVES people and does a happy dance and jumps up with joy when people come over- her worst habit at home is jumping on people. Her worst habit at the vet is being nippy coming out of her kennel, but once out she does well. She retreats to her kennel when she is scared and needs her space in there if she does, although we have not seen that happen at the foster home(s) ever- just the vet.  She is dog friendly, house and kennel trained, good with kids and all people. She co-exists with cats when they are calm but does chase when they run, so likely a cat free home is best. Cookie does have some energy, she is a dog who needs a yard and someone to dedicate time daily for a good long walk. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm positive and being treated, so does need to return to our clinic in Maple Lake in 60 days for an overnight visit for the final injections to complete treatment. Ophelia is a cat who is meant to live with someone who expects a diva... notice we said &quot; live with&quot;, not &quot; belong to&quot;? Ophelia is a cat who holds herself in high regard and thinks most other animals are clearly beneath her. That being said, she adapted very quickly to the other cats at her foster home, and gives a healthy respectful space to the dogs. She is a quiet cat as far as energy, likes to share the room with you and be petted on her terms, but doesn&#039;t like being picked up, doesn&#039;t want to be petted when it&#039;s not her idea, and absolutely hates cages. Even at her angriest though she shows inhibition. Her scratches usually have one pinprick, and that&#039;s when she&#039;s in a cage, cornered, or being carried by someone she doesn&#039;t know. This princess needs a home willing to just take her- guarantee a first meet is not going to have a single positive thing to it- and bring her home, let her settle for a week, then decide. She chirp meows for attention, loves her food, winds around your feet when she&#039;s lovey, and has a lot of personality- just 75% of her personality is bi%#hy. Rigby is a neutered male  9 year old Hound/Bully mix who is a laid back mellow fellow, happy to lounge around and be your companion. Toffee is a 6 month small male orange kitten, neutered and vaccinated, FeLeuk/FIP negative. He is a very quiet kitten, pretty reserved and so patient- he lets all his siblings get to the pets first and waits so calmly for his turn. He enjoys attention, but is shy at first. It took a week before he was seeking it out, and now he politely asks every chance he gets but is also fine hanging on his own. He has major hero worship on other cats, especially big cats, and is respectful and gentle with them while admiring them with his whole heart. He would love a home with a friendly adult cat. Toffee is afraid of dogs, and we do see improvement but that;s something else that will take some time. He is just a calm, docile, easygoing quiet fellow. Laika is a young adult ( about a year old) 16 pound female Dalmatian/Mini Aussie mix ( for real). This happy-go-lucky girl is an instant friend to every human and dog she meets, and her ideal home with have a canine buddy for play and a yard for her to play in, along with someone active and who enjoys a dog who thrives with training. Laika is excellent with kids and other dogs, and besides harassing the cat to play, does well with cats also. She is house-trained but does rely on a routine for outside, and is crated when left alone and overnight. She loves walks, going to the park, and loves being a part of any adventure she gets to go on with you. 
She knows how to sit, lay down, shake, high five, sit pretty, and left/right spin. She does pretty well with focus too, but needs a bit more training with that. She would do wonderfully with agility training. She loves puzzle toys and frozen kong treats. Chicken jerky/freeze dried chicken are her favorite treats. She is a BIG chewer, so she will need lots and lots and of chew toys. She is known to chew furniture, but with a close eye and more training she&#039;s been getting better with that too. She wants to be around you all the time, but also does well on her own and doesn&#039;t whine unless she&#039;s hungry or has to go out. She makes you smile a hundred times a day. She would not do well with a home/adopter who wants a homebody, or a dog who wants to laze around the house- she needs to be busy for a little bit every day and then she settles down well. Reuben is an adult wire Doxie mix who has a peppy and playful personality, does well with cats and kids, and is dog tolerant- but doesn&#039;t love other canines. This means he can be expected to behave out and about ( unless they get in his business, then he will correct that behavior) and he does live with other peaceful and calm dogs, but he would not love sharing tight spaces with other canines ( no apartments please, with hallway passing). He is house trained, crate trained, loves his toys and enjoys the kids and cats. For a single family home with a yard and that only wants one dog at a time, he&#039;s perfect. Bandit is a very affectionate, cuddly, kissy puppy whose main goal in life is to make friends and to show the people he loves how bog his heart is. 
He is a 12 week old male Doxie/Mini Aussie/mystery mix, currently about 10 pounds. Bandit is used to kids, cats and other dogs, and is learning all the typical puppy things... the house training, the crate, the manners and leash walking and all that. Expect puppy training to continue, but know he enjoys it very much. We don&#039;t know what dad was, so can&#039;t predict adult size for sure, but are guessing around 35 pounds. Jasmine is an adult ( 5-6 years) spayed female longhair Calico cat with the sweetest nature. She is friendly, gentle, polite, loves to bump her head against you for pets, and gets along well with everyone. She was owner surrendered to the vet when stress from the death of her sister caused her to get really constipated and she needed medical intervention ( surgery). She is on a laxative for life to prevent that from happening again which normalizes her well. It&#039;s $90 and the prescription lasts several months. She takes it well in food. Believe us, this extra effort is VERY worth it for a cat this sweet! Murray is an adolescent 40 pound Lab cross with a lot going for him. He is house trained, crate trained, had basic training done. He loves walks and is used to a daily walk and run with his people. Murray loves other dogs and is curious about cats, has not lived with them. He is hesitant with kids ( avoids if possible) and doesn&#039;t love new people coming on too strong, but is comfortable with others out and about. Murray did nip the kid in the lip after a run when she bent down to hug him, so we are seeking a kid free home. Murray is on very borrowed time to find a kid free foster or adopter. Dobby is an athletic small Lab mix who also has a very chill side, especially where a pile of pillows is concerned... he loves to sink into a pile of pillows and nap. He also loves walks and runs, and enjoys being able to use his nose to sniff things out. He is not reliable off lead though so does require a fenced yard or someone who can walk daily. He is well house trained, not a barker, crate trained, very dog and people friendly, but no cats. He can be a bit much for small kids, he gets excited and doesn&#039;t know his size ( 40 pounds). Balencia &quot;Bea&quot; is a young adult female dilute (soft colored) Calico kitty who came to rescue with her kittens. This champ handled a long ride in a van full of dogs with her 4 tiny babies, plus an additional baby in need that she mothered. Bea likes to play with her foster mom and the other cats in her foster home. She is fine with dogs that don&#039;t harass her. Bea likes to be pet and watch what is happening in the world through the windows. She does have a sensitive stomach and we found a reasonably priced dry cat food that she does well with (American Journey dry). Bea would be fine in a home with other pets, but equally fine on her own with people attention. Skylar is a 17-month-old shepherd mix of about 62 lbs. She is a very social sweet, loyal, loving dog. She&#039;s great with all dogs and people. She loves kids but she forgets about her size. She has interacted with cats and wants to play and has no issues but is oblivious to social cues of not everyone may like her company. She is house and kennel-trained, along with basic obedience training. She walks well on a leash and loves car rides and dog parks. A yard is a must to run out all things puppy. Spicy is a super petite Torti kitten who got her name because she has Tortitude... and anyone who has had Tortieshell cats, you get it. She is skittish of strangers, hid for the first week in foster, keeps to herself and bonds SO hard to one person, the one who is willing to be patient, go slow, and earn it. Spicy really likes other cats and is afraid of dogs. She uses the box and the scratching post well, rarely makes noise, and once you win her over, she&#039;s yours for life- but it takes a few weeks. We still can&#039;t hold her and walk without panic starting, but she is getting braver about everything else. Spicy is spayed, vaccinated, FeLeuk negative, wormed. Bowie is a Beagle with some baggage. Cute as can be, this young adult Beagle has a lot of Beagle traits (the bay, the enthusiasm for long sniffing walks, the passion for food, and wily smarts) but came to us with some serious resource guarding issues. He went through behavior rehab and is doing wonderfully, but without an experienced dog owner will revert back. He used to guard food, items he thought were his, and his sleeping space, and would react with a bite. At this point, in foster care, he allows us to handle him all over, take food and treats away, and move him. He needs an experienced owner to continue boundaries, training, and kind firmness. We adore him, we have no issues right now (except with cats, he hates cats). Bowie is house trained, crated when alone, loves walks, would do best with a fenced outside area, and we are highly recommending continued training classes. Atticus is a middle aged mixed breed, about 45 pounds, who has a tough past but he sure doesn&#039;t show it. He is always happy.  He loves to chase the squirrels and enjoys watching the birds at the bird feeder, he doesn’t bark or growl at the birds he just sits on the couch and watches them. He likes to lay on the couch and will cuddle with you if you invite him. He loves to sleep in bed with his fosters as well, no matter how little space there is. Atticus came from Mexico and was badly hurt, left to heal on his own. He had a broken pelvis and broken leg that healed on it&#039;s own. Maybe that&#039;s why he enjoys a soft bed and a warm loving home so very much. Atticus is a smart dog who responds very well to training. He enjoys other dogs, meeting people, and plays well with others. He is well house trained and crates when alone, although is graduating to more free reign then also. Drogon is an adult spayed, vaccinated, healthy tested female cat rescued from the streets after being dumped as a kitten in a neighborhood. She survived her first year and is happy she was &#039;caught and tamed&#039;. She is be adopted along with her sister, Viscerion. These two came from the outside and are still learning the benefits of having humans do their bidding. They would do better in an experienced cat home or in a home that is willing to be patient and continue to guide them to their full mojo potential. They would be ok with other cats in the home. They may even do better due to learning indoor cat ways from another cat. One of the foster moms cats sometimes visits the foster room and they all co-exist peacefully. 
We&#039;re pretty sure she has no idea what her name is but she 100% knows when it is play time. She requires active play time - every day - several times a day if possible. If she does not get her play time, she will take the energy elsewhere. But she also doesn&#039;t know when to stop. She will be panting (yes, cats can pant) and still trying to go for the toy. She is pretty vocal...which is encouraged by her foster mama. She is ready to take over a whole home and not just a room. She will also give some chats when it is food time. Tweety is a petite adult female Rat Terrier who has been in a shelter waiting for a foster/adopter since MAY- and she still hasn&#039;t given up hope! We are going to welcome her into rescue on September 21st, looking for a foster or adopter. Initially she was defensive on the leash with big dogs, but she passed dog tests with flying colors recently, and had always done ok with smaller dogs. She was house trained prior so we think she will remember pretty quickly, and is medium energy... she likes walks and yard play, but is equally happy just hanging inside with her person. She has some feistiness to her, like any Terrier, and bonds hard with her people. She&#039;s been very friendly and outgoing to shelter staff as well. I would like you to meet Aarmis aka Thunder. He is a one year old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix ( best guess). His fosters  call him Thunder as that was his name from his prior adopted family who underestimated the energy of an adolescent. He needs a family with at least one other dog that likes to play or a very active family that will take him on long walks, play with him, and/or take him to dog parks regularly.  He is rarely left alone ( used to someone home most of the time) and is kenneled at night with no issues.  He is not a fan of fireworks or thunder and will hide under or behind anything he can find. He has enough German Shepherd in him to be a good barking watchdog when people come to the door, and he is learning to be redirected. Once they come in he&#039;s fine. He is does not bark much, he walks well on a leash, loves bones, is currently free-fed,  and good around kids of all ages. Cats are unknown. He has a passion for pickles also. Thunder (aka Aarmis)

Kaizer is a 4 year old AKC Lab seeking a new family after being surrendered due to a move. He has done very well in foster care, and really loves his canine sister a lot. Kaizer is such a handsome, smart good boy. He loves his humans and will do anything for belly scratches. He is FULLY house trained. He can crate if needed but prefers to spend his alone time snoozing on his fosters bed or couch. He loves other dogs - large or small. He doesn&#039;t like cats from what we know. His leash manners have improved greatly with his fosters training. He knows all basic commands and has been practicing being off leash with his foster sister. His recall is coming along nicely. He also rides well in the car.
He does have a touch of stranger danger so his shy when meeting new humans but warms up in minutes. His ideal home would include another dog but he would also do great as an only dog. His activity level is medium. Two walks a day to do his business seems to be enough for him. A fenced yard for him to run in would also be great but not necessary as long as he does have a yard.

Betty is a young adult female cat who was living on the streets and gave birth to kittens under a shed, and spent the next month fiercely defending them against cats, fox, cars, neighborhood dogs....and she kept them all alive. Boy was she relieved when a kindhearted woman caught them all and brought them in, so she could relax about it! Betty is very human friendly, she likes to be held and petted and purrs. She does well with other cats ( after a normal adjustment period) and has dogs at her foster home. She has no known experience with young kids. Amos is a 2 year old, 12 pound, extremely outgoing and dog social Rat Terrier mix seeking a home with another playful dog and a yard. Having someone to take him for walks would be an added bonus! Amos loves doing zoomies in the yard, enjoys toys and walks, and is the world&#039;s best snuggle companion. He is doing well with house training and is crated when left alone. Poppy is a 3 month female Lab mix who is very smart, very much a people pleaser, always in a good mood, and is going to make such a wonderful companion for someone. She is good off leash once attached, learning the house training, crated when alone. Poppy has exposure to kids, cats and dogs and gets along well with everyone. Her sunny disposition and love of people charm everyone she meets.  We have a 2 week trial on all adoptions. She does need to get to our partner clinic in Buffalo for her spay, so adopters must be within driving distance of Buffalo MN. Eclair is a shorthair tabby boy who is a little nervous but still can’t stop his purr when you pet him. He’s a quieter kitten by nature, loves to be held and be petted, but is a little more of an old soul and just a calmer boy. He likes other cats and he likes people, and he is learning to be brave with dogs. This little kitty has a lot of heart, and would thrive in a quieter home . He is about four months old.
