About Lukey

Meet Lukey! Lukey is an 8-month-old Australian Shepherd mix (possibly with Border Collie or English Shepherd) with a sweet heart and a bright future ahead of him. He is neutered, housebroken, crate trained, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids. Lukey can be shy when meeting new people and is naturally a bit skittish and spooked by unfamiliar sights, sounds, and situations. Because of this, he is looking for a patient family that will allow him time to settle in and continue building confidence at his own pace. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he is an affectionate, energetic, loving companion who enjoys being close to his people. A home with another young, active dog is a must, as Lukey gains confidence from canine companionship and loves having a furry friend to follow and play with. A physically fenced yard is also required to keep him safe as he continues to work through his insecurities and gain confidence in the world around him. Like most herding breeds, Lukey has a fair amount of energy and will do best with regular exercise, mental enrichment, and an active family that understands the needs of working-breed dogs.
