About Perry

Perry is a fun-loving, smart, and enthusiastic dog who brings a lot of personality wherever he goes. One of his greatest joys in life is his Kong toy—carrying it, tossing it, and proudly retrieving it like it’s the most important job in the world. He’s the kind of dog who loves having something to do, whether that’s a game of fetch, a walk, or simply hanging out with his people after he’s burned off some energy. Perry is also continuing to learn about the social world of dogs. Through careful introductions and observation, we’ve discovered that Perry does best with calm, confident dogs who don’t mind his occasionally rowdy play style. Dogs who are equally high-energy or overly intense can sometimes make him a bit nervous. A steady, easygoing canine companion helps him feel more comfortable and gives him a chance to practice and improve his dog-to-dog communication. As Perry gains confidence and experience, his social skills will likely continue to grow. In the home, Perry is a loyal and engaging companion who enjoys being part of the action but also settles in nicely once he’s had some activity. He’s a bright dog who responds well to guidance and would thrive with adopters who enjoy training, structure, and interactive play. Perry’s ideal home would include: 🐶 A calm, confident dog who won’t mind his playful enthusiasm 🎾 People who enjoy interactive play (especially fetch!) 🧠 A family willing to continue building his confidence and dog skills Perry is a dog with a lot of heart, a lot of potential, and a very serious commitment to his Kong collection. With the right dog buddy and supportive humans, he’s ready to keep learning, growing, and bringing plenty of fun to his forever home. Please do the application at https://www.homewardboundrescue.com/application/dog *Perry came to Homeward Bound due to extraordinary circumstances. He was living in unsanitary conditions and lacked appropriate socialization and health care. He's still learning how to express excitement appropriately, so he can be a bit jumpy and mouthy at times. He’ll need plenty of physical activity, mental stimulation, and ongoing training to help him grow into a well-mannered best friend.
