Scarlett is an adult Mini American Shepherd seeking a new home. After raising a few litters of beautiful puppies, she is in a great foster home learning some more social skills and hoping to be discovered by her forever home. Scarlett is a sweet, polite, and quiet girl who takes her time warming up to new people, especially men. She thrives with patience, gentleness, and a calm environment. Once she feels safe and gets to know her people, she becomes silly, incredibly loyal, and eager to please. She’s accustomed to living with other dogs and would enjoy the companionship of a confident, medium-sized dog to play with. She can be a bit exuberant around smaller dogs, so a well-matched companion is ideal. She would also be ok as an only dog with people who are home often. She is now kennel trained, potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car. She sleeps quietly through the night. Scarlett would do best in a low-traffic home with few visitors. She is not compatible with cats and is not suited for homes with young children. A securely fenced yard would be a plus, as she enjoys being outside and running around—but she may be a flight risk, so supervision and a leash are essential when outdoors if a securely-fenced yard is not available.
