About Steve

**Steve is Blind** Steve is a young adult male Lab mix who has several strikes against him. He's not an adorable tiny puppy, nor a fully trained adult yet. He's black, and that color gets overlooked. He is going through treatment for heartworm ( which will be successful), and he is diagnosed with progressive retinal atrophy, so is almost blind already. He still has a tail that wags all the time, he has a gentle and friendly demeanor, he loves to run and play with his foster dog siblings, and he uses his nose and some careful head bumps to learn a new environment. Steve is doing well with house training and is kenneled when alone. He is learning to walk on the leash- he is VERY trusting of people to guide him- and he is seeking a home with a physically fenced yard, a home environment that doesn't change often so he can pattern his brain, and someone with patience and a sense of humor to embrace him as is. He had a foster say yes, and a generous donor covered his heartworm treatment, so now we are working to find his forever. He is worth the extra time and stumbles.
